Below is a list of supplies you will need to provide for your student’s Bridges classes.

 

American History:

-Curriculum: Exploring America by Notgrass, 2019 updated edition.

-Both books: Part 1 (ISBN-13: 9781609999988) and Part 2 (ISBN-13: 9781609999995)

Loose-leaf paper

-Pocket Folder   

 

Biology:

Apologia Exploring Creation with Biology Textbook 3rd edition (not the test book or journal, just the text)

– Colored pencils for lab drawings (erasable is best)

– 1.5” 3-ring binder

– Gmail account (either your own or a parent’s)

 

Chemistry:

Apologia Exploring Creation with Chemistry 3rd edition (not the test book or workbook, just the text)
–  Calculator
–  Loose paper or notebook that can have pages torn out
– 1-inch binder, recommended

– Access to YouTube videos

 

College Prep Writing:

Debate:

– Multicolor pen or multiple pens in different colors

Elementary Literature:

– Curriculum: Please purchase the following books or have then checked out of the library when needed: Mrs. Frisby & the Rats of NIHM by Robert C. O’Brien, Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Spear, A Night Divided by  Jennifer A. Nielsen, A Year Down Yonder by Richar Peck, Hatchet by Gary Paulsen and Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls.   They do not need to be specific ISBNs. If you are going to be checking out books from the library, I will let you know when books are finishing up so you can have the next book reserved.

Essentials for Writing (Both A and B):

Financial Literacy:

-Curriculum: Foundations in Personal Finance, 2014, Lampo Licensing, LLC.,  Student workbook only  **plus videos for home study.**  SEE NOTE

This course will use Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace curriculum. It provides students an opportunity to learn, practice, and apply important personal finance knowledge and skills.  The 12 chapters are aligned with the National Standards for Financial Literacy. 

Note*- The Student Workbook needs the corresponding video content from the Teacher/Student Pack to be completed.  Bridges will provide the videos, however students will need to be prepared to spend their ½ hour lunch time watching the videos that accompany this curriculum.  If they are unable to do so they will need to purchase the videos for home viewing.

Intro to Writing

Wilson, The Broken Blade by William Durbin, Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Cutris, Carry On, Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham, The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom, Inside and Out & Back Again by Thanhha Lai (this would be helpful to own because we may need to annotate in the book) and A Single Shard by Linda Sue Park. They do not need to be specific ISBNs.

Jr. High Life Science

Purposeful Design Life Science, by Purposeful Design Publications 2016 edition

First semester (acrylic) 

  • Mixed media paper (larger than 8×11)
  • Masking tape
  • Acrylic paint (at least 12 colors)
  • 1 tube of white acrylic
  • Acrylic or mixed media brushes
  • Fan brush
  • Palette (bigger than your hand)
  • Paint knife
  • 4 poster boards (you choose the color) or art portfolio
  • 2 containers for water
  • Hard, thick foam board 5 inches bigger than your pad of paper

Second Semester (watercolor) 

  • Student watercolor set (at least 12 colors)

  • Hard, thick foam board 5 inches bigger than your watercolor pad of paper

9th/10th Grade Literature:

– Students’ own, new (no notations) copies of each book are preferable, as we will be learning to annotate. Dover Thrift Editions are recommended for classics. Students could alternately have books checked out of the library when needed and have an ample supply of mini sticky notes.
