Mission Statement

"We are a Christian homeschool organization that believes in offering high-quality classes taught by experienced and qualified teachers on a weekly basis in a safe, friendly environment. We seek to support and encourage the homeschool community, build lasting relationships, and instill a sense of confidence and accomplishment within our students as they traverse their homeschool journey."

Bridges is a nondenominational Christian homeschool organization based in Canton, OH for upper elementary school, middle school, and high school students designed to complement your homeschool education plan. We provide weekly classes in a variety of disciplines, including science, writing, literature, history, foreign language and much more. We also provide electives in art, drama, physical education and many others each year.

We meet on Mondays from 8:15 am-2:45 pm at First Friends Church. Our program runs from September to May each year with scheduled breaks over Thanksgiving, Christmas and during the spring of each year. 

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. It is the supreme, final, and only authority of faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).

We believe that God, as revealed in the Bible, created the universe and everything in it by His supernatural power and intelligence. God is the giver of life, and we believe that all human life is sacred and created by God, in His image. Human life is priceless in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through death.  (Ps. 139, Genesis 1:27, John 1:1-3, Job 12:9-10, Psalm 139:13-16).

We believe there is one true God who exists eternally in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Genesis 1:1, John 10:30).

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the sinfulness of man, which entered the world through Adam, and that all men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross as a substitutionary atonement  for our sins. It is only by God’s grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16–19, 5:24; Romans 3:23, 5:8–9; Ephesians 2:8–10, Titus 3:5).

We believe when a person receives by faith the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit regenerates that person into the family of God. We believe in a future heaven for the saved and that it is not obtained as the result of good works, but we believe in the maintenance of good works and holy living as a result of salvation.

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as genetically male or genetically female and that these two, complementary genders, reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person (Genesis 1:26-27).

We believe that God created covenant marriage as a union only between one man (genetically male) and one woman (genetically female) as explained in the word of God. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4, Genesis 2:15-25).

We believe that any form of sexual immorality is sinful and offensive to God. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, living in, condoning, or supporting sexual immorality; practicing a homosexual lifestyle or an alternative gender identity; or promoting such practices (Matt. 15:18-20, 1 Cor. 6:9-10).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. We are a nondenominational organization and doctrinal differences should not interfere with the unity of our organization (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 2:12–13, Galatians 3:26– 28).

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity in accordance with Scripture (Mark 12:31, Leviticus 19:18, Romans 13:8-10).
